The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Complete work of 536 pages of Miles' original edition on Equine anatomy, surgery and veterinary practise plus 96 pages of an essay on the diseases of cattle, sheep and pigs by J. I. Lupton. The book is beautifully illustrated with tissue-guarded coloured frontispiece, coloured title page, 13 full page coloured lithographs, and 26 wonderful black and white engravings.

Published by William Mackenzie, London, Glasgow and Edinburgh, c1870. Publishers’ original half leather black spine with brown boards. The spine has six raised bands decorated in gilt, the titles are in gilt on red leather label within the second compartments. Marbled end papers and all page edges.

Nice publication weighing in excess of 3 kilograms.

Condition
Firm and well-bound copy. External covers with some discolorations, and light wear to corners, edges and spine ends. Internally; the book is in lovely condition. No writing or inscription. Scattered foxing mostly light on few pages. Inner hinges are very good. Pages are tightly held at the gutter. The text and plates are clean and bright (Nice Copy) (Please see pictures).
