Also Wooley and Wallis of Salisbury. Overall size with the frame is 29 cm x 26 cm x 2 cm and the drawing measuring 19 cm x 15 cm. Z as A lovely small pen and ink study of two horses and an ostler by Thomas Barker of Bath . Thomas Barker (1769–1847) was born nesr Pontypool, in Monmouthshire. He was the most talented and is the best known of the Barker dynasty of artists, which included his father Benjamin, two of Thomas's brothers (Benjamin and Joseph) and also his sons, Thomas Jones and John Joseph.Thomas Barker was self-taught. Barker was a prolific and commercially extremely successful artist. He was an occasional exhibitor at the Royal Academy and the British Institution for almost fifty years. His work is highly collectible. Conditin report: In good original condition with no visible foxing . It appears that the drawing has not been removed from its current frame since being sold in 1971. Please note : The frame that is included in the pictures above has been added to the artwork by a third party/the seller, as such it’s not an integral part of the object. The frame is being provided to you at no additional costs so that when your artwork arrives at your house you can immediately display it on your wall. As such any damages to the frame itself, that do not affect the integrity of the artwork, cannot be accepted as a valid reason to open a claim or request a cancellation. We would also point out that whilst we insure all paintings before shipping that we have no control over shipping once we have sent the painting . The successful bidder will be responsible for paying any import duties and any associated VAT in the country of destination . Please refer to the auction terms regarding this before bidding.
