"Grape selection on the table upon arrival at the winery. Destemmed and pressed with maximum speed. It remains between 12 and 18 months in large wooden vats from the founding period and, a small part, in glazed cement tanks, where it completes malolactic fermentation and stabilizes. The wine matures in used 225-liter American oak barrels for between 200 and 210 months, almost 18 years. The average age of the barrels is 30 years, even reaching 45 in some cases. Membrane filtered before being bottled directly from the barrel according to demand. Delivery of the wines directly to the customer by order, without storage in the bottle rack."

"The origin of the Marqués de Murrieta winery is also the origin of Rioja. Don Luciano Murrieta, applying the techniques learned in Bordeaux, produced the first Rioja wine in 1852, with the intention of lasting over time.

Don Luciano was clear from the beginning that a wine with Rioja quality and good aging would have the capacity to be exported outside of Spain. For this reason, he did not hesitate to send that legendary 1852 vintage to countries like Mexico and Cuba, also becoming the first Rioja to be exported."
