【Important notes】
・International Buyers: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
・Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These duties are paid to your country's customs office and not to us. Prompt payment of these fees is necessary to ensure delivery of your item.
・We deeply value your understanding regarding the blade's export process. The duration to secure an export permit might extend up to a month, and shipping, based on the destination, could take an additional month. In some instances, sea freight may be chosen, which might lengthen the delivery period to 2-3 months.
・Considering the diligence required for export permit procedures, we'd like to emphasize the importance of commitment after purchase. If the auction is annulled post-confirmation, there's a need to retract the said permit. In such situations, to cover administrative efforts, a fee equating to 10% of the auction's final amount would be requested via PayPal.
・We kindly request bids from those who fully acknowledge these conditions. Please be informed that the original registration document is required to be returned to official authorities, so a copy will be provided with the sword.
・AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, and UK prohibits the import of swords, so please refrain from bidding.
【Product details】
Discover the elegance of traditional Japanese sword-making with this unmarked wakizashi, a shorter companion sword to the katana. Presented in a classic black scabbard, this wakizashi embodies the understated beauty and functional design of Japanese weaponry. The tsuba, or hand guard, features an openwork design, reminiscent of the Yin and Yang, displaying a noticeable rustic patina.
This wakizashi comes with a copy of its Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate, as the original has been returned to the issuing authority. Detailed in the certificate, issued by Kyoto Prefecture (No. 11320), are the sword's measurements: approximately 34.3 cm in length with a curvature of 0.66 cm, and a single peg hole. The tang is unmarked. Issued on May 8, 1961, the certificate confirms the sword's registered status in Japan.
The sword exhibits signs of age, including wear and noticeable rust on the blade, making it ideal for those skilled in maintenance. The handle wrapping is frayed and unraveling, adding to the sword's antique charm. The tsuba is slightly loose, with some wobble. For a comprehensive understanding of its condition, please review the provided photographs. Please note that the stand depicted is for display purposes only and is not included in the sale.
Length of the blade: 47 cm
Length of scabbard: 58 cm
