Veronica Cantero Yáñez - Samuel Beckett , Red Portrait II - XL

This portrait of Samuel Beckett (year 2009) belongs to a series of portraits of this author I created between 2009 and 2017. This painting evokes the visual representation of the deconstruction of language that characterized the literary work of this prominent playwright and novelist of the 20th century. The superimposition of red color over his own face adds depth and complexity to the representation. This superimposition suggests a duality between the author's public identity and his personal introspection, a dichotomy that is present in his literary work. Through his writings, Beckett dismantled the foundations of conventional language and challenged narrative conventions, seeking to capture the raw and essential essence of human existence. -Tecnique : oil on canvas This painting was made in 2009. The work is oil on canvas. The work is in perfect condition, ready to be sent by mail with its corresponding packaging and certificate of authenticity.
