Limited Edition reproduction with Certificate of Authenticity reflecting the early Beatles Hamburg period in 1961 where Stuart created a series of abstract expressionist artworks.
An acclaimed artist and original Beatles bass player and band member, Stuart Sutcliffe is known as The Fifth Beatle who was also John Lennon’s best friend.
All items are new and sealed in the original package, hence for this lot stock photos are used. You will receive an unopened item with its own serial number and COA.
We have limited numbers of this edition which have not been available since 1999.
This is a beautiful and completely intact example produced in 1999-2000 in NEW untouched condition still in its original packaging mint and sealed (M&S) which has been opened only for photography. The item is 24 years old and never been used and this illustration was displayed at the Guggenheim in 2020.
A stunning presentation displaying a vibrant reproduced print of one of Stuart's later works 1960-1961 and incorporating memorabilia of the Beatles era in his time with the band, then reproduced in this inlaid frame which measures 84cmx62cm.
Consisting of:-
• Reproduced print of the first piece of artwork Stuart sold titled 'Summer Painting' bought by John Moores College in Liverpool in order for him to purchase the bass guitar he took to Hamburg
• A reproduced page of a letter to his sister Pauline after he left the group in 1961, with sketches of the style of suit the Beatles later adopted in their infancy
• A reproduced letter from Stuart posing as the manager of the group trying to secure gigs (Note the spelling of the "Beatals")
• A reproduced ID photo card for the college in Hamburg
• A copy of an early Beatles song playlist for Hamburg
• A Black and White photograph of The Beatles top right: Stuart, John, George, Paul and Pete Best with a friend at the Indra Club in Hamburg 1960
• A reproduced copy of Stuart's cheque book from Westminster Bank Limited with the stub noting a payment to Hessy's Music shop to cover Paul McCartney's hire purchase loan.
A full Certificate of Authenticity is located on the rear and has been signed by Stuart's Sister Pauline, under exclusive licence from herself. This compilation gives a wonderful insight to the Beatles and Stuart's role early in their career.
The picture measures 84cm x 62cm and framed in the art deco style with an inlaid border and metal cord, ready to hang. The general constitution of the item has been made with high quality materials and is quite a heavy object having an an excellent size which will dominate any wall or backdrop.
Seller Note: A very rare opportunity to acquire a Stuart Sutcliffe Limited Edition that is untouched and unused in A1 Mint collectors condition yet 24 years of age. A good investment which will inevitably increase in value not only for its contribution to art but for the connection to the Beatles.
