Indusdalen Onyx Monkey's Head Bead Talisman - 33 mm

An onyx (black agate) monkey's head bead talisman from the ancient Indus Valley culture.

Second Millennium AD or older .

In good condition. I has been cleaned by hand, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient hand cutting, carving, boring and grinding. The holes probably have been over drilled with modern techniques to make the piece wearable when the ancient holes obstructed. Traces of use and age on they surface.

Purchased mid 90's in Strasbourg by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market.
