Printmaker. After graduating from Kyoto City School of Arts and Crafts and Kyoto City Painting College at the top of his class, he studied under Bakusen Tsuchida and participated in the Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai (Kokuten). He won the Cho Niu Award in 1928 and the Kokuga Award in 1929. He devoted himself to the production of woodblock prints, and published the print magazine ``Han'' with Unichi Hiratsuka and Shiko Munakata, and ``Taiwan Print'' with Ben Asada himself in Kyoto. He established a printmaking studio and mass-produced prints using the ukiyo-e method, playing an active role as a central figure in the Kyoto creative print movement. He was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Fourth Class. He received the Kyoto City Cultural Achievement Award.
