Original editions of the Strand Magazine, (Vol. XI January to June) and (Vol. XII July to December). This is special copies, as they contain all 12 chapters of the story of “Rodney Stone” by Arthur Conan Doyle, and with Illustrations by Sidney Paget. Before ever being published in book form, Doyle’s legendary “Sherlock Holmes” series was first printed here in The Strand Magazine.

Publisher’s original half leather spine with dark brown boards. The spines in five compartments with raised bands, gilt lettering pieces to compartment two and four. Top page edges gilt.

Condition:
A well-preserved copy. External covers in nice shape, slightly worn at corners, and edges. Internally; the books is in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters. Pages are clean, with occasional foxing marks on some pages. The illustrations are clean and bright (Lovely Set) (Please see pictures).
