Extremely fine antique Tekke Turkmen handmade wool rug circa 1880 measuring 115 x 105 cm ( 3.7 x 3.4 ft ). Rows of hexagonal motifs each decorated with geometric objects in mixture of red, pink and orange filed having similar narrow bands of borders. This is one of the finest of the type from South Turkmenistan and has very thin foundation with shimmy natural dyed wool. The rug has remained in good condition considering its age and is almost square in size and can lit any room with its charming present. There is one repair in one border blended well with some localised light wear commensurate with age, otherwise goos consistent low pile with amazing decorative look.
