Very large tooth of the extinct big tooth shark; Carcharocles megalodon. The tooth has a beautifully preserved serration and a beautiful yellow//brown/orange color. The point is razor sharp. This tooth is no less than 15.2 cm long and 9.4 cm wide. It was found in a sandstone layer near Sukabumi in West Java, Indonesia. The tooth dates from the Miocene and is between 15 and 20 million years old. The root of the tooth was weathered and has been smeared to a considerable extent. The photos speak for themselves.
