Camus Ile de Ré Fine Island Cognac is the youngest Cognac in the range, with fresh marine notes on the nose, a delicately oaked palate with hints of dried fruit, and a hint of saltiness in the smooth finish. Camus Ile de Ré Fine Island Cognac Double Matured has a unique ageing process, said to be unknown in the world of Cognac. After a first ageing in warehouses on the Ile de Ré, it receives a second maturation in old red barrels, which have undergone a toasting process. Neat, it reveals toasted notes, with as little barrel oak as possible, culminating in a smooth and rich finish that is said to have a perfect balance between crystallised fruit flavours and a subtle hint of smoke.
