This work is part of the series “Sunset in Spring”: I observe and try to capture the image of dynamic skies and clouds that dance like petals in the wind, evoking the freshness of spring in a play of colors, lights and abstract movements. In creating it I am inspired by the painted skies of Correggio: his emotional atmospheres derive from the soft and nuanced use of light, which envelops the figures in a sort of ethereal glow, and from the dynamic compositions that give a sense of movement and emotional involvement. I sought a feeling of lightness and tranquility, a perfect work to infuse a serene atmosphere into the environment thanks to its delicate pastel shades and the dominant blue that recalls the calm of the spring sky at sunset. TECHNICAL DETAILS: The work was created by the artist combining mainly two techniques: the fluid technique of applying colors combined with the use of spatulas and brushes and sponges, with overlapping layers of different colors that create these very particular shading effects and greater three-dimensionality. The painting is not framed, the photos of the framed work serve as an example. The size indicated corresponds to the painting already framed, so you will receive a larger canvas. The photos were taken with natural light at different times and positions, they have not been modified in any way, but you will notice that there are some differences in shades depending on the brightness to which the painting is subjected. The canvas is signed on the back to leave freedom of posing and also because, especially for the Abstract genre, I think that the finished work has its own independent life and the artist is responsible for the task of creating it. The certificate of authenticity signed by the artist will be sent together with the painted canvas. WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT HER WORK: My work is a journey that, thanks to meditation, allows me to overcome everyday life and its sources of stress, to discover and rediscover the beauty hidden in reality, especially in Nature: which represents for me a refuge, an element of salvation for the human being. I observe it with wonder, I imagine it and I rework it in my paintings, with the intent of sharing and transmitting the same emotions that I feel in deep contact with these natural elements. INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTIST: Laura Capellini is a multidisciplinary artist, in 2004 she graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and enriched her education with Erasmus scholarships at the School of Fine Arts in Athens and the University of Barcelona. She currently lives and works in Salsomaggiore Terme, alternating her work as a painter with that of a professional tattoo artist and teacher at the Art School. The artist is present on Singulart and Saatchi. His works are present in private collections throughout Europe and the number of collectors is rapidly growing as well as the value of his works is growing. All the works on Catawiki are unique pieces hand painted by the artist, you can perceive the movement and the consistent energy of each brush stroke that I put on the surface. In Painting he expresses himself with an Abstract style: a choice guided by a spontaneous need to be able to access unlimited creativity and freedom of expression through the free experimentation of technique, materials and colors.
