Nr. 92396495
Limited Edition Paper Relief with Mirror Inserts (06/50)
Size: 30 x 40 cm
Framed Size: 32 x 42 x 3 cm
Materials: 100% cotton paper, recycled acrylic glass mirror on Italian linen board
This paper relief artwork explores the subtle interplay of light, texture, and reflection. Created with meticulous precision from 100% premium cotton paper and sustainably sourced acrylic glass mirror, the piece layers two sheets of black and two of white paper, forming a rhythmic, monochromatic grid. The mirrored inserts catch and scatter light, drawing the viewer’s eye to different points within the grid. This effect transforms a seemingly static composition into something alive, shifting with light and perspective, revealing more of itself with each glance.
Each piece follows a guiding principle — a single mirror embedded in every row — the position of the mirror changes uniquely for each of the 50 editions, making every piece one-of-a-kind within a cohesive series.
The careful positioning of mirrors also invites contemplation on presence and absence, as each reflective square introduces a fleeting, momentary view of its surroundings, including the observer themselves. The result is an artwork that resonates not just as a static image but as a dynamic experience—a mirror, quite literally and philosophically, of the world it inhabits.
