Niepoort 10 Years Old Tawny Port 1 x 0.75L
DESCRIPTION
From 1842 up to today, six generations have been writing Niepoort’s history. What unites them is a passion for wine – a passion which respects traditions but does not shy away from embarking on new paths whenever its unbridled creative drive sounds the call.
Dirk is the current leader of the family – a role passed down to him by his father, with the challenge to “innovate while preserving good traditions”. More than up for the challenge, this fifth-generation member of Niepoort is intensely curious by nature: he carefully observes everything that happens around him, and when he glimpses a unique opportunity, he jumps into action without hesitation. Dirk's children Daniel, Marco and Ana are following in their father's footsteps to ensure that the next few chapters of Niepoort's history continue to be as fruitful as each harvest.
WINEMAKER: Dirk Niepoort.

Tawny in colour, with aromas of dried apricots and crystallized tangerine peel well integrated with a nutty character. The palate reveals dried fruits with a fiery spirity finish. Fullbodied and luscious, with lots of sweet fruit and a long subtle finish that goes on and on.

Quinta do Noval 10 Years Old Tawny Port 1 x 0.75L
DESCRIPTION
The name of Quinta do Noval first appeared in land registries in 1715. The history of Quinta do Noval is marked by the action of visionaries: António José da Silva, a port shipper from Porto, acquired Quinta do Noval in 1894, after its devastation by phylloxera. He restored the property by replanting the vines. Luiz Vasconcelos Porto, his son-in-law, was the author of a vast programme of innovations. He transformed many of the narrow older terraces into broader terraces. This permitted a more efficient use of the land and a better exposition to the sun. Quinta do Noval made its name with the declaration of the 1931 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port, and the 1931 Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage Port. Because of the global depression and the enormous production and shipment of the 1927 Vintage, most shippers did not declare the 1931. This success established Quinta do Noval among the great names of Vintage Port in the English and American markets, a leading position in terms of reputation which is maintained today. Since 1993, Quinta do Noval is part of the international viticultural group of AXA Millésimes.

VINIFICATION
The grapes were trodden by foot and fermented in the traditional lagares of the Quinta, to obtain the best extraction. Noval Tawny 10 years is a blend of old Ports from different vintages, matured in oak casks and with an average age of 10 years.
TASTING NOTES
A beautiful Old Tawny colour, recognisable from its brilliance. Amongst the complex aromas, young and very lively fruit blends prettily with appealing and typical aromas of dry fruit such as hazelnut. Rich and smooth on the palate, it delivers an elegant structure and long lingering finish.
SERVING
It goes well with a dessert, with dark chocolate or cheese. Also alone at the end of a meal. A clear expression of the Noval style, no decanting necessary. No complications, just a great glass of Port. Serve at 9ºC – 14ºC.

VINIFICATION
It was made with high quality wines from Quinta de Ervamoira by blending wines from harvests from different years. Young wines give it vigor and freshness, while older wines give it complexity and “breed”. The characteristic aroma and taste are the result of “art” acquired over generations.
TASTING NOTES
Orange-red color, with a greenish touch. Rounded, generous aroma, with a slight vinous and balanced touch. Fruit aromas, such as orange, apricot and plum and also vanilla and old port cask. It's the fruity kind of tawny. In the mouth, fresh fruit is still noticeable, good structure and perfect balance between fruit and alcohol, ending with a slight fresh note.
SERVING
Goes well with nut desserts and intense cheeses. It can also be enjoyed plain. Store in an upright position, in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve slightly chilled at a temperature between 12ºC and 14ºC. Consume in moderation.
