FORM
The sculpture is made of single piece of solid poplar wood*. Carved by the artist with chainsaw, hand finished. Charred with fire ("yakisugi"**), painted with dark mat paint to emphasizes character and beautiful wood pattern.
All this resulted in a unique form rich in exceptional details.

*(Poplar is a light wood but very strong and hard to break.)
METHOD
**("Yakisugi" is a Japanese method of wood preservation. By charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes water-proof through the carbonisation and is thus more durable. It also protects against insects and makes the wood fire retardant.)
