Figure of the Rhone Valley, Yves Gangloff is an artist winemaker who exudes, especially through his wines, a unique sensitivity. Leading a somewhat bohemian life, this Alsatian rock fanatic met his future wife Mathilde during a visit to his brother's house at the Château d'Ampuis in the 1970s. In order to provide for them, he became an agricultural worker at Delas where he learned and acquired the basics of the winemaker's trade on the steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu. In parallel with this activity, Gaston André, a local winemaker, offers the couple to give him some vines. The Gangloff myth can begin. Initially, Mathilde and Yves Gangloff sold their harvest to the trade before signing their first vintage in 1992. Success is not long in coming and the operation is growing. When Mathilde Gangloff passed away in 2011, their children Loup and Elsa took over.
About the vintage
Yves Gangloff assembled marsanne and roussanne to make this white saint-joeph. He cultivated them in a reasoned way on granite and schisty soils. This wine with great storage potential (20 years) has a golden dress that exudes floral notes and ripe fruit. Its mouth is fruity, flexible and balanced by a beautiful acidity. It thus signs a wine of great finesse that can be enjoyed with roasted veal with honey and citrus fruits.
