How about looking at World War II through the eyes of American fighter pilots? The Weems watch had appeared in 1927, the same year Lindbergh flew solo across the Atlantic. The “Weems” wristwatch was issued to pilots and navigators during WW2 and features a moveable outer bezel which is set to the second hand to calculate longitude to aid navigation. The watch takes its name from Lt.Cdr P.V. Weems who was a well-known aviator, navigator and instructor at the Naval Officer School at Annapolis, Maryland, in the U.S.A. The original Weems was a very highly regarded military issue time piece and the re edition released in 1995 and produced in a limited run of just 3000. Its a remarkably good tribute and is produced in a very wearable 36mm case size. The 36mm stainless steel case has a sapphire case back allowing viewing of the automatic movement and as with the original design the 2nd crown allows the bezel to rotate unless it is screwed in which locks the bezel to avoid errors.
