A very fine old 4/4 violin, labeled "Giovanni Pistucci Napoli 1920". This instrument is in good condition with no visible cracks, new rosewood set up and new strings. The violin shows a very careful selection of wood in the making. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. Inlaid purfling on top and back. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 115 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. Full size. The sound is very good, deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist.
