Frans Van Winkel, a name that resonates with a certain melody in the art world, was born on February 12, 1923 in the picturesque city of Bruges, Belgium. From an early age, he showed a deep interest in the arts, fascinated by the play of light and color present in the Flemish landscapes that surrounded him. His first drawings, made at the tender age of six, already showed a natural talent and a keen sense of observation.

Van Winkel continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where he perfected his art and developed his unique style. Under the influence of ancient masters such as Jan van Eyck and Pieter Brueghel the Elder, as well as modern impressionists, he created a symbiosis between tradition and innovation. His works are distinguished by a masterful use of light and texture, giving each painting exceptional depth and liveliness.
