Made in 1978 under the auspices of The Household Division in tribute to the 25th anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Colonel-in-chief of all seven Guards Regiments in 1977.
The box portrays a Grenadier Guard and is inscribed with the official motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter, "Honi soit qui mal y pense" (shame on him who thinks evil of it).
