Hannah Bielecki - Daniel #1

A historical topic with a modern twist: The artwork presents an abstract reinterpretation of the classical theme of Danaë, a figure historically depicted as a woman lying on a bed, gazing upward at a shower of golden coins—a scene often laden with mythological and symbolic undertones. In this innovative interpretation, however, the traditional female Danaë is replaced by a male figure, subtly challenging conventional gender roles. This gender reversal creates a powerful statement on equality, subverting the myogenic connotations often embedded in the myth. The abstraction allows viewers to engage with the subject matter on a deeper, conceptual level, encouraging reflection on issues of representation and identity within the historical context of art. The protagonist, Daniel, was highly inspired by Harry Styles and the work is painted with oil colors. The color was applied rather thick and is fully dried. Important Note: The work will be shipped unstretched, without wooden frame, rolled in a tube. Further Information: I am living and working in Cologne, Germany. I share my painting process on Instagram and studied Painting at Alanus University. (Master of fine arts, degree in 2017). www.hannahbielecki.de Instagram: hannah_bielecki „Hannah Bielecki paints, draws, cuts, irritates… she presents color fields just to cover them up in transparency within the next second. She creates narration and objects in abstraction to tell a story that can only grow in the beholders eye and perception. The color palette she uses is somewhere between a dark reverie and neon bright drama, which she enlightens with points of light. She uses a lot of color but is never arbitrary. The paintings are appear dynamic, but nothing happens by accident. the viewer is challenged to fathom the painting. The eye doesn’t get a chance to rest. As soon as you have grasped the composition, colour, motive, you are attracted by a hidden layer, which in turn eludes all views and calls everything previously recognized into question."
