A 3-seater sofa / sleeping sofa designed by Gijs van der Sluis, manufactured by Van der Sluis Stalen Meubelen in the Netherlands since 1960.
This piece has a high quality black lacquered metal base in rectangular finish. The seating depth can easily be extended by raising and pulling out the seat, after which it can be used as a sleeping bed. This is an innovative piece and an icon of Dutch mid-century design. The additional armrest pillow is a compliment to the design.
Both the sofa and pillow are newly upholstered in high quality grey fabric.
The sofa remains in very good, vintage condition with new upholstery and only minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
