A pair of superb gilt brass hexagonal hanging temple lanterns 吊り灯篭 (tsuridôro)/六角神前灯篭 with butterfly shaped foot, impressive and beautiful. There are a pair of beautiful doors which can be open or close smoothly. The upper part of the lantern has 12 petal-like leaves, like a beautiful blooming flower, impressive and creative.
This is a butterfly-footed gold lantern for the Otani sect of Shinshu.
Hanging lanterns are lanterns that are hung from the ceiling of the Buddhist altar and are also known as Ingen lanterns.
Hanging lanterns illuminate the principal image and memorial tablets, and brighten the inside of the altar.
On top is a sturdy handle from which you can hang it.
