Wool on wool - Turkey - Mid 20th century This one of a kind handwoven vintage rug was made in 70s-80s by nomad people in Usak village. Before starting the weaving, the weaver was sheering her sheep, cleaning, combing and spinning the wool to have the best yarn of kilim. Weaving rugs is a tradition in Turkey and every village & tribe has different design and weaving tradition. This rug has characteristic colors & design combination. Material: Wool, mother nature’s bounty such as leaves, roots, barks, berries, nuts, funghis and lichens are all good sources of natural dyes Condition: *It has a good condition for its age.
