Mikhail Ivanovich, as I learned, was engaged in life both in medicine and chemistry, and besides, he collected a large and very interesting library of classical Russian literature. Perhaps it was some "scientific" that allowed him to write the "Grammar" in an understandable, interesting and accessible way.
