Turkoois Oude Chinese Kikker Kraal Talisman - 27 mm

A turquoise frog bead talisman from the ancient Chinese, Han to Western Zhou culture.

1st Millennium BC.

In good condition. It has been cleaned in a tumbler, so its surfaces are shiny ans smooth, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, grinding and boring. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular, but have been over drilled with modern techniques to make the piece wearable when ancient holes obstructed. Traces of use and age on its surface.

Purchased mid 90's in Budapest from the collection of a former ambassador in China, H.E.B.L
