”Imperial Moth - Adelpha Lycorias”

These copper plate engravings originate from "De uitlandsche kapellen: voorkomende in de drie waereld-deelen Asia, Africa en America = Papillons exotiques des trois parties du monde, l'Asie, l'Afrique et l'Amérique" by Pieter Cramer and Caspar Stoll, published in Amsterdam by S.J. Baalde and N.T. Gravius.

Pieter Cramer (1721-c.1779) was a Dutch wool merchant and entomologist. He assembled an extensive collection on insects that included butterflies, moths and insects. He hired Gerrit Wartenaar Lambertz to make drawings of his collection that he then had engraved and published. The resulting work was titled “Papillons Exotiques des Trois parties du Monde: l'Asie, l'Afrique et l'Amerique” or the Exotic Butterflies from three parts of the World: Asia, Africa and America. They are high quality engravings with original hand coloring.

Nice collection of EX Libris, very well packed with certificate of authenticity (!) . Just one suggestion try another courrier than GLS. Registred mail with receipt would be fine for small pckg.
