Stunning vintage example of the famous "Veronese" vase by
Vittorio Zecchin for Venini in Pagliesco color.

It is extremely rare to find a pair of the same vases in the same condition.

Stunning early Veronese vase, 1970s or earlier. Signed with label and underneath.

Provenance: this vases comes from a dutch private collector who bought the vase in 1973. They were professionally made in to table lamps without damaging the glass. The hardware can be included in the sale, making it a even rarer pair and a stunning edition to any interior. would be a great company to pieces by Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Chapo, Serge Mouilles Jouve, Madoura, Gio Ponti or Mategot.

condition: excellent vintage condition.

Blown for the first time in 1921, thanks to the intuition of the art director of Venini 1921-1925: the painter Vittorio Zecchin. A 1580 painting by Paolo Veronese, “The Annunciation of the Virgin”, inspired the artist to create this glasswork which has achieved such great success that it became the company logo and, with time, an icon of the company. Vittorio Zecchin attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and subsequently presented a series of glass objects made at the Barovier glass factory with painter Teodoro Wolf Ferrari at the 1914 Biennale. During the First World War, he set up a tapestry workshop in a former convent in Murano. In those same years, he exhibited his works – artistic glasses, tapestries, embroideries, and paintings, at the Biennale exhibitions in Venice, Milan, Rome, Monza, Turin, and Paris. He also taught the subject of glass and glassmaking at the Abate Zanetti school in Murano. From 1921 to 1925, he worked as artistic director of the company Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C.” and became one of the main exponents and most important innovators in the art of Murano glassmaking
