An anniversary personalized silver token issued for the 100th anniversary of the company “Peter Botkin and Sons”. Workshop F.A. Laurier. Kunetsky Bridge 4. Moscow. 28x36 mm. Weight 13.50 grams. The company “Peter Botkin and Sons” was founded in Moscow on November 22, 1801 by Pyotr Kononovich Botkin from a family of townspeople from the city of Toropets, Pskov province. The company was engaged in wholesale barter trade in tea and had its own purchasing office in Kyakhta.[3] In 1854, the company was transformed from a sole trading enterprise into the Petra Botkin Sons Trading House. Its owners were Vasily, Dmitry, Sergey and Mikhail, the eldest sons of P.K. Botkin from two marriages.
1801 to 1901 The partnership had branches in London (since 1830), Tashkent, Baku, Riga, Kyiv, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. By 1890, tea sales amounted to 3-5 million rubles, and net profit (1896) was at least 325 thousand rubles. In the last third of the 19th century, the Partnership participated in the establishment of such large commercial, industrial and credit institutions as the Moscow Accounting Bank and the Moscow Sugar Refinery Partnership.
