The set is housed in a luxurious black lacquer carry case adorned with cherry blossoms and petals. Cherry blossoms hold a significant place in Japanese culture, symbolizing the beauty and transience of life. The top section of the carry case has a metal handle for easy transport. A sliding box at the top contains two plates, suitable for storing cutlery. Next to this box, there is a tray with a sakura motif on a nashiji ground. The lower section contains a four-tiered jubako (stacked boxes), with the lid attached to the top box. Adjacent to the jubako, there are two pewter flasks held in a dedicated holder. All components slide neatly into the carry case. The interior of each box features a nashiji finish, while the undersides are finished in black lacquer. Maki-e is a technique where designs are sprinkled with gold or silver powder onto lacquer. Nashiji is a technique that creates a pear-skin-like finish using fine gold flakes. There is wear, minor scratches, chips, and discoloration due to age. Repairs are present on the flask holder and two of the jubako boxes. There are cracks in the lacquer and chips on the flasks.
