Prompt payment of these fees is necessary to ensure delivery of your item. 【Product details】 This early Meiji period wooden statue meticulously hand-carved by Kaihatsu Touemon depicts Shitoku Dōji, also known as Chūtoku Dōji, a guardian figure in Buddhism responsible for overseeing the virtue of faithfulness. Located in the northern direction under the jurisdiction of the Kamma part's diligence gate in the pantheon surrounding Fudō Myō-ō, Shitoku Dōji embodies the virtues of loyalty and moral integrity. According to the "Hiden Hōhon," Shitoku Dōji is depicted with three eyes, signifying omniscience, and is garbed in armor, a symbol of protection against spiritual adversaries. The left hand gracefully holds a Rinbō (wheel treasure), representing flawless wisdom, while the right hand wields a trident, a tool for vanquishing delusions and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Although there is no inscription, it can be assumed that it was made by Kaihatsu Touemon because the construction characteristics are the same, especially when compared to the Buddha statue with inscriptions. Over the years, the statue has accrued signs of wear, with dust accumulation and notable cracks and chips in the lacquer finish. Restorative efforts are evident in both hands. Prospective buyers should note that the condition is as visibly captured in the photographs, and there is a possibility that surface peeling may worsen during shipment, with the chance of parts detaching. Understanding and acceptance of this pre-existing condition is requested prior to purchase. It can be inferred that there is a high probability of surface peeling occurring. Dimensions: approx. H 44.5 cm W 18.5 cm D 12.5 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos. However, due to differences in monitors and device displays, as well as photographic conditions, slight color variations between the photos and the actual product may occur. We ask for your understanding in advance. Thank you for your interest, and happy bidding!
