Luristan Brons Speerpunt
A finely cast Luristan bronze spearhead. The piece features a triangular blade with a central midrib. At the base is a short, flattened tang with rounded tip. The surface is covered with an attractive patination with some earth encrustations remaining. Minor chips along the edges of the blade.
Luristan bronzes come from the province of Lorestan, located in modern day Iran. Luristan weapons, such as this nice example, would have been used in everyday life but also buried together with the deceased.
