DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Rare example of original Italian single-seater road car; the vehicle body was manufactured by Borghi of Bologna, the car mechanic by Sartoni of Bologna.
Approved ASI Gold Plate - Italian FIAT Register 
The car is in overall good condition; the engine, the car body and the 4-speed gear are the original ones. This road vehicle is ready to be sold; its plate, papers and certificates have been released by the Centro Prova Autoveicoli of Bologna. Moreover, this vehicle comes with historical paper docs.

HISTORY 
Documents found in the FIAT Historical Centre & Archive state that the vehicle Fiat 500 "2-door saloon type" with No. 0182xx chassis was produced in 1936 with body type sedan and assigned to the Fiat branch of Bologna to be sold. After a car accident, the chassis was separated from the original body and give a completely new body by the bodywork of Augusto Borghi, located in Bologna.
Since the owner of the time harboured the desire to take part in some speed races in the Italian circuit, the vehicle should have modified as a two-seater car, but for some reason it was built as a single-seater. The mechanism was dismantled and processed by the workshop Sartoni, and upgraded with a supercharger "Bremo", no longer present (the car is now equipped with a MM cylinder head).

In 1958, in Turin, this car was filmed while racing into the local "Well of Death", which until then was reserved only to motorcycles. The car participated in some vintage/old car racing events (as "The Grand Prix of Bari" and the "Arezzo Circuit"), appeared in some magazines and in automotive fairs and exhibitions.
