A copy of a bronze sculpture of classical origin in a dark patina. It depicts David slaying Goliath, made by Donatello. This artwork was made in Naples in the mid-20th century. David is portrayed standing, with an unusual pointy hat decorated by a laurel wreath. The hair is long and loose, the face is slightly hung and enigmatically absorbed. The body is naked, except for the knee shoes, and it is limply supported by his right leg while the left is on the head of the defeated monster, the giant Goliath. The soft and lively body is the one of a child. In the right hand, he holds the sword that is lowered and in the left hand, that is on his hip, he hides the rock with which he had stunned the rival. The base is square with rounded corners and is in travertine marble. Dimension: height of 50 cm.  Signed at the bottom on the back: "unreadable", in very good condition.
