I am offering for auction a superb 20th century oil on board of the famous tea clipper Cutty Sark under full sail in a fresh breeze, by listed artist Robin Goodwin, 1909-1997.  A charming work of art to grace any wall.  Painting measures 40 x 30 cm.

Condition. In good condition. Please view all images for accurate condition. Ready to hang.

This fine sailing vessel is fully restored and survives today as a walk around living museum in London. In her prime she was one of the fastest sailing vessels in the tea trade, bringing tea to London from China, and wool from Australia.

Robin Goodwin, born 13th May 1909, was a member of The Royal Society of Marine Artists and lecturer at The Slade School, where he taught renowned wildlife artist David Shepherd (b.1931, d.2017). Goodwin passed away on the 5th of December 1997.
