A copy of the Dutch edition of Boyen’s monograph about Flemish painter De Smet in good condition. The author places his development in a national and international context. The book contains a descriptive and fully illustrated catalogue of paintings, drawings and graphic work. The book was published for the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of De Smet in the Provinciaal Museum voor Moderne Kunst, Ostend, in 1989.
The book is a linen-bound hardcover with dust jacket in a black cardboard slipcase. It contains a chronicle of De Smet’s life, an elaborate exhibition overview, a bibliography, and black and white and colour illustrations.
