Very Lovely Baule Gong used in ethnic dances.  The mallet is hit on the gong, at a pulsed rhythm, in order to accompany the masked dancers. 
The head of the mallet represents a zoomorphic protection mask, whereas the body of the mallet is materialised by a masculine fetish, with typical Baule style and scarifications. 
The piece presents a wonderful patina of wear and handling. 
The mallet is magnificently enhanced by a custom-made stand of professional quality (the mallet is not pierced) and it can be removed from the stand. 

Total height, on the stand: 26 cm. 
Materials: Wood, tapestry nails, fabric (mallet).
