For him or her, for hands and feet, for large or small wrist/ankle

Rare hand-forged and riveted steel handcuffs. Probably used in the colonies of United Kingdom decades ago for the hands and feet of criminals and or slaves. This one from the first half of the 19th century.

Wrought iron handcuffs with matching keys in good working order. In a brilliant and decent version, in very good condition given the age. The cuffs are attached to each other by a swivel and two rings. With a nice weathered thick layer of chromium over the iron.

There's one key for each set of handcuffs. The lock works with a screw mechanism, the key rotates in the lock until the hand-cuffs open. 

Diameter inside large model approx. 20 cm
Diameter inside small model approx. 17.5 cm

Approx. 1040 grams.

Both the handcuffs and the key have a beautiful antique patina.
