Pedang (also known as parang) is an Indian sword with a pamor kling from the first half of the 19th century with (hard) a wooden sheath.
This authentic and rather long Pedang has a special pamor kling (forged by an Empu like a Keris). A Semar is to be discovered in this Rojogundolo Pamor. Rojogundolo is the Javanese name for a pamor in which, unintentionally, as if by itself, human and or mythological figures can be discovered. 
Semar is an important figure in Javanese culture. He is one of the Pandawa lima brothers (from the Ramayana Epic).

The sheath and grip are more recent than the blade itself, but made of beautiful wood, especially for this Pedang.
A Pedang was formerly used by the guard of the Kraton (Palace of the Sultan) in Java and by senior officials at the time. Beautifully forged blade with a curvature as in a sabre.

The wooden sheath and grip are simple but good and made for this blade. 
The blade is very thickly forged at the grip and then slowly becomes thinner to do the tip. It lies comfortably in the hand for the original purpose.

The whole is 72 cm long, the blade is 55,5 cm long.
