The jug has hairline at the rear
At the neck opening you can see that the crack does not continue 
It could be that this occurred during the firing process.
The whole crack  can be seen in the photos.
Many photos indicate the beautiful condition (including leopard print) and the imperfections. Such as the dent on the side and the varnish damage on the other side.
Neck opening is naturally tilted forward
Rings around the edge allow you to close the opening with parchment or oiled fabric.

I don't know if this is a archaeological find.
