A marvellous painting on panel, in a beautiful golden frame, carved and lacquered, in the shape of a small temple. There are some shortcomings in the frame. 

The subject of the painting is taken from a fresco by Fra Angelico, currently preserved in the museum of San Marco in Florence.
It represents a sacred conversation with the Madonna and Child on a throne, surrounded by eight Saints, who seem to be talking among themselves. The Madonna on a throne, is placed on a raised step and framed by a golden niche on the wall. The saints represented are closely linked to the Medici family and the Dominican order, they are (from left to right): St. Dominic of Guzman, Saints Cosmas and Damian, St. Mark the Evangelist, St. John the Evangelist, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Lawrence and Saint Peter the Martyr.
