MAgnificent. 
Couple of “IBEJI” Twins from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria.  One of the most famous wooden Yoruba IBEJI figurines consists in figures representing deceased twins.  According to the Yoruba belief, these objects affect the daily lives of members of the family, therefore, these statuettes must be honoured with libations and prayers.  
The Ibeji is the guardian of the soul of the deceased twin.  
For this reason, it is treated with the same thoughtful care than the one given to the living twin. 
With a warm expression, a magnificent patina, in good condition, with age-related traces of wear.
