Estimated period around 1850-1880, origin England.
Depicted on the front is The Artful Dodger. 

The Artful Dodger is a character from the book Oliver Twist (1839) by Charles Dickens.

The illustrator who drew The Artful Dogder is George Cruikshank (1792-1878).  Cruikshank has illustrated Charles Dickens’ book Oliver Twist.

This item is hand made from the 19th century, forged, hammered and decorated
