Beautiful, fully handmade, very long (44.2 cm) and solid (540 grams) knife of damask steel, including sturdy leather sheath. 

The history of damask steel goes back hundreds of years. The legend mentions Damask knives that are so strong that they can cleave a gun barrel in two and that they can split a falling hair. These are of course legends, but they do indicate that these are special knives. 

The pattern on the blade is unique for each knife, this is due to the artisanal melting process that lies at the base of this knife. Typical of the steel of a Damask knife, is the pattern that resembles running water. 

The handle of this knife is made of rosewood and the kick plate from solid damask steel. The combination of rosewood and damask steel gives the knife a powerful and classy appearance. The knife is in new condition, never used. Our company imported this knife exclusively from South Asia. 

Our offered Damask knives are not available in stores. The documents that demonstrate the origin and authenticity of our Damask knives have been submitted to the auctioneer. These knives come from South Asia and are made by a craftsman. They are definitely not mass produced from China (you’ll also see this in the many positive reviews we’ve received). 

Technical features: 
Hand-forged blade of 1095 and 15N20 high-carbon and high-chromium steel with more than 200 layers. 
Hardness of the steel: 58 - 60 HRC on the Rockwell scale. 

Maintaining the knife: 
Damask steel is a very special, artisanal product with a high carbon value. As a result, Damask knives require special care for use and it’s best, when washing the knife, that no detergent is used. It is recommended that the knife be cleaned with water after each use, then once it has dried, it should be coated with a layer of (olive) oil. This is how they retain their natural quality. It's also recommended to not store the knife for a long time in the sheath, so that the oil stays on the blade.
