YAMAHA DJX - Dance-keyboard met Sampler, Ribbon Controller and Sequencer - in as good as new condition DJ keyboard from the nineties.

The Yamaha DJX was produced in 1998 and was one of Yamaha’s first keyboards which explicitly focused on creating sounds for DJs and club, dance and hiphop producers. While you browse through the many pre-programmed beats in the machine, you can nowadays recognise that this keyboard was sampled multiple times: including “Lady” (D’Angelo), “Rapper’s Delight”, and a beat that is used for the R&B artist Case, come along. The keyboard also gives you the option to pull apart these beats: So you only take the parts that you like of each beat, add your own touch and combine this all to your own sound.

Apart from the 284 very usable sounds, DJ sets and Drum kits with arpeggio options, it has a decent sampler with a number of useful editing features. 100 rhythms which are highly focused on modern electronic music (mainly dance floor stuff, of course). So no Country & Western or Bossa Nova rhythms, the DJX is focused on purely electronic music. Excellent drum kits, catchy samples, nice dials with a very nice resonance filter, groove (swing) button, ribbon controller, MIDI, sequencer, excellently suitable for creating unique sound effects. Very powerful speakers. It is a fairly simple device to learn to use, but still very powerful! It is no coincidence that it is the most sought-after dance keyboard by Yamaha.
