Original manuscript written in Haarlem - 1470 - vellum - 12.5 × 9.5 cm. 

Condition: although more than 500 years old, the manuscript is still in good condition; the vellum is slightly tanned. Elements that determine the value: its rarity, quality, age and attractiveness. This is a masterpiece in any serious collection. 

The decoration in the margin: elegant pen decorations featuring a fountain that springs from the blue initial O and venous leaves in red and green. For a detailed description see: “Kriezels, aubergines en takkenbossen”. Edited by Anne S. Korteweg. Walburg Pers Zutphen. 

The text is in black and is from the Book of Hours of Geert Groote of the Brethren of the Common Life. He thought the laity should also be able to read religious texts and replaced Latin by Dutch, although that language was not yet standardised. 

This is a manuscript on vellum (thin parchment - animal skin) with a beautiful decorated initial and pen decorations in the margin. This is an original unique piece from the 15th century.
