Bache–Gabrielsen celebrate 110 years..
Few people are blessed to live to be 110 years old. A good cognac, on the other hand, lives almost forever, and Bache-Gabrielsen has no plans to add years to it, even though they are as old as the dissolution of the Union. 1905 was an important year in Norwegian history, and it is therefore with both pride and joy that the cognac company can now look back on 110 years in the service of good taste.

To mark the fact that the family has produced, stored and sold Cognac for 110 years, cellar master Jean-Philippe Bergier has found a treasure from paradise. They are now launching the cognac Réflexion, which is a single estate from the Grande Champagne district. It comes only from the bouilleur de cru Butté, who has collaborated with Bache-Gabrielsen for generations. Grande Champagne is Cognac's premier district, and is considered the best for growing grapes for cognac production, which results in distillates that should only be enjoyed after many years in barrel. The cognac is made from wine from the Ugni Blanc grape, and has been aged in oak barrels from Limousin since the 1931 harvest.

To put it all in perspective, this was the year when the Norwegian Parliament decided that the former Trundum and later Nidaros should change their name to Trondheim. In other words, Réflexion 110 has matured since Trondhjem introduced the form Trondheim as a city name. For the first 80 years, it has been aged in old oak barrels, and then it has spent its time in large glass balloons called demi johns, in the innermost and locked part of the agin cellar, which is called paradise.

Réflexion
110 is a cognac with a fresh and powerful aroma of lychee fruit, citrus, orange peel and iris. On the palate, it is soft, intense and rich with a rare, antiquarian complexity and with hints of toasted almonds, dark chocolate, nutmeg and saffron. Undoubtedly a cognac for the big occasions and moments – for moments of reflection.

The cognac is bottled in a limited edition of 512 numbered 50 cl bottles,

Color / smell
Golden. Great depth, concentrated, deep, a bit rustic, but very interesting with lots of dried sour fruit and coffee as well as cocoa.

Taste
Follows the aroma, very good character, good acidity, elegant and complex, very long aftertaste with simply lovely fruit.
