This ''Trinity'' basket, designed by Adam Cornish for Alessi in 2015, marks an exciting collaboration that enriches Alessi’s renowned collection of centerpieces. This project was the first by the talented young Australian designer for the company, showcasing his distinctive approach to creating visually and physically dynamic objects. Cornish’s work invites closer observation, engaging the senses through movement and intricate design.

This Trinity basket is inspired by the natural elegance of the Nautilus mollusk’s shell. This fascinating structure, composed of separate chambers that grow in number as the mollusk matures, forms a mesmerizing spiral. Drawing from this organic motif, Cornish reimagines it using modern industrial techniques, blending nature’s artistry with contemporary craftsmanship.

The centerpiece begins with a simple geometric shape that transforms into a vortex, creating an elegant concentric structure. Its dynamic form is achieved through laser perforations in sheet steel, which is then shaped mechanically. This meticulous process results in a perforated design that is both lightweight and robust, with a versatility that allows this Trinity basket to function as a striking centerpiece or an elegant fruit bowl.

This Trinity basket embodies the fusion of natural inspiration and innovative design, reflecting Alessi’s commitment to transforming everyday objects into timeless works of art.

This basket is in new and unused condition. Delivered in original packaging.
