Classical seascape with sailing ships and fishing boat off the Dutch coast was executed in the middle of 10th century and due to very close manner was attributed to the hand of famous Dutch marine painter Abraham Hulk Senior (London 1813 - 1897 Zevenaar). There exists a fine art family of Hulk painters as not only was Abraham Hulk Senior also referred to as Abraham Hulk the Elder, a painter, but so was his brother, Johannes Frederik Hulk Senior (1829–1911) and his sons Willem Frederik Hulk (1852–c. 1880), Johannes Frederik Hulk Junior (1855–1913) and Abraham Hulk Junior (1876–1898) too.
Inscription: unsigned.
Technique: oil on canvas. Original period gold-plated frame.
Measurements: unframed w 20 7/8" x h 14 2/3" (53 x 37 cm), framed w 24 3/4" x h 18 1/4" (63 x 46,5 cm).
Condition: in very good condition

Sinto muito, mas não é minha culpa, a foto estava muito bem embalada. O vidro quebrou devido ao manuseio descuidado da embalagem pelos correios portugueses. I'm sorry, but it's not my fault, the painting was packed well enough. The glass breakage was due to the careless handling of the package by the Portuguese post office.

Having bought a beautiful oriental portrait from the 19th century in an original gold frame for €500, he found fault with minor delamination on the side of the frame, received a discount from Satavika and also tried to get some of the money back from me, instead of canceling the deal, as I suggested to him.
Zeer goed verpakt, ik schrok wel even omdat ik tape over het schilderij zag, maar dat bleek op glas te zitten, hetgeen niet in te tekst stond. Verder alles perfect. Heel blij mee.

Glass protects the painting from dirt. If you decide to remove the glass, Inhope , it won't be a difficult job for you. Best regards
Very lovely painting, shipped quickly and well packed. The only thing is that the clips to attach the painting to the frame are broken! Now I have to figure out how to fix this.
